Okay. So you’ve bought a slough of marketing courses. Your credit card hurts. You’ve actually gone through most of the material in the courses…
…And your head is spinning. So many directions, but which one?
That’s the question I received from Jenny, a member of The Marketer’s Apprentice community (thanks Jenny!)
Well I shot a video to answer that question. In the video, I describe how to:
- find the success in past marketing “failures”
- start moving forward, even when you’re not clear on a direction
- gain perspective on getting to the finish line sooner
Click “play” on the video to discover what will help you reach your goals faster
Now it’s your turn.
Here’s a quick question for you…
“Have you ever considered yourself ‘failing’ with your internet marketing goals?
Tell me why in the comments below…

It doesn’t have to be perfect – done is perfect! Great video, thanks for sharing.
Hey Victoria,
I completely agree! Done IS perfect… at least to start :)
Nice – you’re so right. Thank you.
You’re welcome Reinhard!
Hi Jenn!
Thanks so much for addressing my question! Taking action is the key – I completely agree! I am going through the keyword searching right now – for a couple different ideas – still working through the direction to take (so many great ideas) but I’m excited and I’m confident that this year, 2012, is going to be monumental! Thanks for your wisdom and encouragement – I appreciate YOU!
Hey Jenny!
You’re the inspiration behind this video post… so thanks :)
Yes, action is KEY. Choose one idea, go for it (even if it’s not the final decision you want to stick with), create results and the answer will appear.
Stalling in the decision-making process for too long does nothing to move you closer to your goals.
Just like a carpenter needs to learn to bang a hammer well, we marketers need to strengthen our marketing skills through practice.
Thanks again Jenny!

I’m in the middle of it too .. and with three various web properties. Built some videos and loved it, wrote better content that’s really clear, and only slightly seeing some results. But I know deep inside this is the right place to be .. I’ willing to pursue it with great resolve, in a way I have to. But sometimes I just can’t believe it’s so slim in the money making part .. Still I know deep inside it’s right, and I’ll get there.. I know it. I would not have gotten this far with your input though. Thank you so much,
Hey John,
Great to hear you’ve taken action toward your goals. I suggest MORE videos, MORE content… and you’ll find MORE results.
Seriously, it was a shift for me in the beginning when I realized I really needed to be cranking out content.
I’m glad you’re finding help here.
Jenn :)
Ohhhh, Jen. Getting overwhelmed by info is so darn easy to do! I try not to, I swear I do. But so many do such a good job convincing you “THAT YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THIS” :) I think we all know what needs to be done, we just need to do it! Thanks for the reminder! One day at a time…Action, even small bites will result in results. You ROCK!
Hey Andrea! Thanks for your comment. Yes, we all do know what needs to be done, just sometimes it’s a little tempting to NOT DO IT, right?
hey Jenn
Thanks for sharing that video, taking action is the key I know, life gets in the way sometimes so I need more focus on my goals to move forward . Thanks again
Naomi
Hey Naomi,
It’s great to have you here. I know very well how life can get in the way. There are so many reasons for it to!
But self-discipline and consistent effort (daily) is key.
Keep on keeping on…
Jenn :)
Thanks so much for the helpful advice, Jen!
I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel like a “failure” at times with my business. We are so conditioned to want that instant gratification and become successful as soon as possible, we end up setting our expectations to high and, in return, set ourselves up for disappointment.
That being said, once we create more realistic goals for ourselves with our businesses (and in our lives, too, for that matter!), we then can find the success that we’ve worked so hard to achieve. It’s all about the baby steps and just plugging through the challenges.
Believe in yourself and your abilities to make your business happen. YOU CAN SUCCEED! :-)
Heather
Hey Heather,
I agree wholeheartedly. It seems we’ve conditioned ourselves to expect overnight success, as you say. One step at a time, consistently toward our goals!
Jenn :)
Hi Jenn,
I am not considering failure as I feel it is vital to use this medium to communicate with people as this is how more and more people are choosing to be communicated with. I do think th is post is very good though since it is sooooo easy to get overwhelmed, and so hard just to eat th e elephant one bite at a time. Thanks for the reminder!
Hey David,
I’m happy to hear that you’re not considering failure. Let me know if I can ever help when you do experience some overwhelming moments.
Best,
Jenn

Ken
Hey Ken,
Good to hear from you. Full steam ahead is
definitely
taking action! You’re welcome.
Jenn
Thanks Jenn, yes, I have to admit that sometimes I feel overwhelmed, there are a lot to learn, but at the end of the day, is rewarding.
Hugs,
Dalia
Hi Dalia,
Overwhelm is, unfortunately, part of learning online marketing. But, as you know, keeping at it, things will begin to come together for you!
